This project is one where we commenced the project working to a brief for redesigning and refurbishing our client’s house … but as thing developed it became clear that the best economic solution would be to demolish the existing house and to build a new house altogether … and this we duly did.

Planning permission for the new house was duly sought and obtained and our client went ahead with the building programme and elected to engage a ‘design and build’ contractor. The house we have designed makes far better use of the plot, and has delivered a spacious interior with double the accommodation as compared to the original property on the site.

The most striking aspect of the new building is the more contemporary front elevation, using a simple vocabulary of materials – stone, white render, stainless steel and slate-grey aluminium windows.
