Broomwood Road
For this double-fronted house in Battersea, London, we created a versatile ground floor layout that could be divided with sliding pocket doors or opened up for maximum views from front to back.
The new rear extension, which opens out onto a wide terrace for dining, brings uniformity to the irregular form of the house. Design features include fixed corner glazing with the introduction of a concealed steel cantilevered beam, and an exposed brickwork wall connecting the interior and exterior space. Timber framed bi-folding doors and sliding windows and a timber veneered kitchen reflect the client’s desire to use natural, locally sourced materials.
